remembering

the is my latest podcast

Remembering Eddie.

At the mention of your name

At the mention of your name

I smile and fight back tears
And touch a secret ache
Love and loss

At mention of your name

I think of big jumpers
Mix tapes
And indie bands
Political debates

At the  mention of your name

my mother would say “He’s a nice boy”
With a “you need to try more look”
And my sister would  get dreamy
Even the dog liked you.

At the mention of your name

I remember the laughter
The camping in Ireland
Birthday day treats of
Festival shows and odd pie

At the mention of your name

I remember the last visit
We laughed and laughed
Till tears flowed
Joyus it was the love in room

At the mention of your name

I still ache
On Occasion cry and hide it
Unreconstructed male
Afraid to say love.

At the mention of your name

I miss you Eddie
I know I’m not the only one
I’m glad you where a friend
precious You are to me
